My preferred University-
If I were to go for MS in RA,  Arizona State University would be my most preferred one for the following reasons-

1.The course is developed in collaboration with USFDA (the most respected Regulatory agency in the world) and the students will receive guest lectures from FDA personnel.
2. Chance for internship with FDA's CDER.
3.The fees and cost living will be much less than most of the  above universities.
4.The competition for admission will be probably less as the university is not much famous.

    2. My only issue with SDSU is that it is currently housed under their EXTENSION program, so for example, the online registration programs expects you to whip out your full tuition up front, instead of being able to pay as you go like with regular registration and billing. That is a HUGE drawback for me b/c I'm getting reimbursed at work. Otherwise I would have applied.

  6. Hello Sir,

Firstly I'd like to thank you so much for all the compiled info you have provided by sparing your valuable time. It is a life-saver!

I am a Pharmacy graduate, currently undergoing the process of licensure for RPh, but am not very inclined towards practicing in retail pharmacy, hence am looking into different career options within this field.

What course from the above list would you most recommend considering my Pharma background?

Also, ASU has started a new MS-CRM course( http://nursingandhealth.asu.edu/programs/nursing/graduate/ms/crm/index.htm )in which they plan to incorporate their previous regulatory affairs concentration as well. What would be the credibility and reputability of this course versus the others?

Once again, thank you so much for this valuable compilation!

    Regards,
    Janki

    1. Hi Janki,

Appreciate, your feedback. In my personal opinion, among the above mentioned universities, purdue is the best followed by others, considering its ratings. You could also consider North eastern university as your first option because, the curriculum seems to be the most comprehensive.

You could select the course offered by ASU, if you are interested in clinical side of Regulatory Affairs. However, it doesn't seem to be useful for Pharma Regulatory Affairs.

      Best Regards,
      Rajesh

  30. Hi there,

I've done my undergrad in chemistry from university central florida. During my bachelors I worked in spectroscopy lab preparing functionalizing nanoparticles and its application is in LEDs / solar cell and nowadays some particles are used in cancer cell research, which currently I am working in as intern. During my senior year I also did one year of internship in chromatography lab in company, learning HPLC and GC. all these experiences i am listing to show I have pure chemistry background not pharmacology or pharmacy. I dont have any real world regulatory affairs work experience or course work on transcript to show. For masters I am evaluating my option, I am new bee learning regulatory affairs as buzzword. More I am researching about the industry I m inclining towards this field. Realistically speaking how can I gear myself to prepare to get in to the program? I dont mind finding internship in the filed but chemistry degree qualifies to find some entry level regulatory internship? if there yeas what kind of industry or companies should I target? your post above is abt university rankings which is really good listing. Do universities not in top tens but fairly good universities ask for work experience?. I am raising too many questions but if u can give some idea would be great.
    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think it's worth mentioning that University of Maryland's MS Program in Biotechnology Regulatory Science is NOT only 499/credit for OUT of STATE students (cheaper than ASU), it is also linked to an entire biotechnology department AND FDA designated center for regulatory excellence, or whatever they call it. I think that's pretty neat. May end up going there even if I am an Arizona resident; ASU's tuition for the online program offers no benefit for being in state. If you ARE a Maryland State resident, however, you can do their program for 299/credit. That's pretty neat.

  38. I'm not sure, but I think you're missing Johns Hopkins Regulatory Science MS and George Washington Regulatory AFfairs MS here. JHU for me was way too expensive, although they keep calling. GWU has what i believe is an amazing faculty....and a really innovative semester scheduling that breaks a regular semester down into two six weeks sessions or so you can take one class at a time. Great for adults.
